Information we collect and why

We collect only information reasonably needed to provide driving instruction, operate the school, communicate with clients, process purchases, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.

Contact information

Your name, email address, and telephone number are used to identify you, communicate about purchases and lessons, provide customer service, and send transactional confirmations.

Driver's licence information

Before instruction, we may record or verify information about your driver's licence to confirm that you are legally permitted to drive, tailor instruction to your licensing stage, and meet safety or regulatory requirements.

Emergency contact information

We may collect an emergency contact's name, relationship, and telephone number so we can respond appropriately to a safety or medical incident during instruction.

Pickup and drop-off information

We collect location labels, street addresses, and municipalities to confirm that a location is within the service area, plan lessons, manage travel time, and meet you at the agreed location.

Lesson and booking information

We keep requested and confirmed dates, times, lesson types, attendance or status, instructor notes, and information you choose to provide so we can schedule, deliver, review, cancel, or reschedule instruction and maintain an accurate lesson history.

Package purchase information

We keep the package selected, price, currency, payment status, remaining credits, transaction references, policy acknowledgements, and purchase date so we can fulfil the purchase, manage lesson credits, provide receipts, handle refunds, and maintain accounting records.

Payment information

Card and payment-account details are entered directly on Stripe's hosted checkout. Alfredo Driving School does not receive or store your full card number. We receive limited payment information such as payment status, amount, currency, Stripe transaction identifiers, and customer contact details needed to confirm and support the purchase.

Marketing preference

We record whether you chose to receive occasional updates, together with the date and policy version, so we can respect your choice and maintain an accurate consent record. Marketing is optional and is not a condition of purchasing lessons.

Technical and security information

When you use the website, our hosting and service providers may process IP address, browser and device information, request time, pages or functions requested, diagnostic information, and security events. This information is used to deliver the website, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and protect the service.

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you purchase a package, book a lesson, contact the school, provide information before instruction, or communicate with Alfredo. We also receive purchase and payment status from Stripe and limited technical information from the services that operate the website.

If you provide information about another person, such as an emergency contact, please make sure you have their permission to share it with us.

Service providers

We use carefully selected providers to operate the website and deliver the service. They process information only for their relevant purpose and under their own service and privacy terms.

• Stripe provides hosted checkout, payment processing, tax calculation where enabled, receipts, refunds, and payment-fraud controls. Payment details are provided directly to Stripe. Read Stripe's Privacy Center.
• Firebase and Google Cloud provide website hosting, the database, secure server functions, administrator authentication, logging, and supporting cloud infrastructure. Read Firebase privacy and security information.
• Google Analytics provides optional website-usage analytics after a visitor chooses to allow analytics. It may process a random browser identifier, general device and browser information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and the public pages viewed. Advertising signals and personalization remain disabled. Alfredo Driving School does not send customer identities, contact details, payment information, booking links, secure access values, lesson information, or other customer information to Google Analytics. • Google Places and Google Maps provide public business rating and review content shown on the homepage. Alfredo Driving School's server retrieves this public content from Google Places for the verified Alfredo Driving School listing. The website does not send customer, booking, payment, lesson, or analytics information with that request. Review text, ratings, publication descriptions, reviewer attribution, source links, and provider attribution are supplied by Google. Read Google's Privacy Policy.
• Resend delivers transactional emails such as booking confirmations. Resend receives the recipient email address, message content, and delivery metadata needed to send and troubleshoot those messages. Read Resend's Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect a person's safety, investigate fraud or misuse, or establish or defend legal rights.

We do not sell personal information.

Where information may be processed

Alfredo Driving School operates in British Columbia, but Stripe, Google, Firebase, Resend, and their service providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they operate. Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement bodies, or government authorities in accordance with those laws.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and to meet legal, tax, accounting, insurance, dispute-resolution, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Different records may be kept for different periods. For example, transaction and accounting records may need to be retained longer than routine enquiries or technical logs. When information is no longer reasonably required, we delete it, anonymize it, or arrange for secure disposal, subject to backup cycles and legal requirements.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. These include encrypted connections, restricted administrator access, server-side authorization, database security rules, protected credentials, and limiting access to people who need the information for school operations.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. If we identify a privacy or security incident, we will investigate it and take appropriate steps under applicable law.

Cookies and browser storage

The public website offers optional Google Analytics to help Alfredo Driving School understand which public pages are useful and improve the website. Analytics is off by default. Google Analytics is loaded only after you select Allow analytics. Alfredo Driving School does not use Google Analytics for personalized advertising or profiling. With consent, limited analytics events may later be used to measure advertising performance. Advertising signals and personalization remain disabled.

If you allow analytics, Google may use cookies or similar browser storage to distinguish visits and process general device, browser, approximate-location, and public-page usage information. Alfredo Driving School configures the integration to exclude URL queries and fragments, secure booking and purchase-access values, and customer information. Google may process analytics information outside Canada. Google Analytics user-level and event-level data governed by the property's retention control is retained for two months. Standard aggregated reports may remain available for longer under Google's own retention practices.

Your analytics choice is stored in this browser until you change it. You can decline when first asked or use Analytics choices on a public page later. Declining or withdrawing analytics does not affect purchases, bookings, lesson access, or any other part of the service.

Public Google review content loads independently of Google Analytics consent. If Google supplies a reviewer's profile image, the homepage may request that image directly from Google. As with an ordinary image request, the visitor's browser may disclose the visitor's IP address, general browser and device information, and request timing to Google. The website uses a no-referrer policy so the page address is not sent with that image request. Declining analytics does not disable the public reviews section. If review content cannot be loaded, the homepage shows only a link to the Alfredo Driving School listing on Google.

Firebase may use browser storage where technically necessary for administrator authentication. Stripe's hosted checkout may use cookies or similar technology for payment security, fraud prevention, and checkout operation under Stripe's own privacy and cookie practices. A secure purchase-access value may appear in the fragment portion of a booking link; fragments are handled by the browser and are not sent to ordinary web servers as part of the page request.

Access, correction, and questions

You may ask to access personal information Alfredo Driving School holds about you or request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information. You may also ask questions about how your information is handled or request deletion where applicable.

Send requests to info@alfredodrivingschool.ca. We may need to verify your identity before providing, changing, or deleting personal information. Some information may need to be retained where required or permitted by law.

Marketing choices

Marketing updates are optional. You may change or withdraw your preference at any time by emailing info@alfredodrivingschool.ca or by using an unsubscribe link when one is provided. Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect lesson purchases, bookings, or necessary service messages such as confirmations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers, or legal obligations change. The current version and last-updated date will be published on this page. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
